Burnt body found inside car in Kirtipur, police launch investigation



KATHMANDU: A burnt body was found inside a car at Chandani Chowk in Kirtipur, Kathmandu, on Tuesday, prompting a police investigation.

According to the Kathmandu District Police Range, locals alerted police after spotting a person in a burnt condition inside the vehicle. A police team immediately reached the scene and began an investigation.

Police said the identity of the deceased, the circumstances surrounding the incident and the cause of the fire have yet to be established.

Investigators are collecting evidence, preparing the scene report and conducting technical examinations as part of the investigation.

A police team led by Kathmandu District Police Range spokesperson Superintendent of Police (SP) Pawan Bhattarai has been deployed to the site.

Police said the case is being investigated from all possible angles, and further details will be made public after the investigation progresses.
