We have redirected the river: PM Shah on long-term political impact

CHITWAN: Prime Minister Balendra Shah said his political movement has created a strong and irreversible shift rather than a temporary wave.

Addressing the first national general convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in Chitwan on Sunday, Shah responded to remarks made by leaders of other political parties regarding shifting public opinion.

“People and their votes are often compared to wind that changes direction. Some worry it blows left or right, north or south,” he said. “We have not created just wind. We have brought a flood that has redirected the river.”

He added that once a river returns to its natural course, it continues to flow steadily in that direction, suggesting a lasting political transformation.

Shah also said that RSP is not like wind that shifts unpredictably in different directions, but represents a more stable and determined political force.
