Leaders of Shram Sanskriti Party absent from RSP general convention

KATHMANDU: Leaders of the Shram Sanskriti political group did not attend the first national general convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), which began in Chitwan on Sunday.

Shram Sanskriti Chair Harka Sampang had earlier announced that he would not participate unless Prime Minister Balendra Shah corrected remarks claiming that Nepal had also encroached on Indian territory.

According to the statement referenced by the group, no clarification or revision of the remarks had been made, and as a result, no leaders affiliated with Shram Sanskriti were seen attending the convention venue.

Meanwhile, several leaders from major political parties attended the event, including Pradeep Gyawali from CPN-UML, Gagan Thapa from Nepali Congress, Rajendra Lingden from RPP, Barshaman Pun, and CK Raut.

Among former prime ministers, Baburam Bhattarai was also seen at the convention venue.

The first national convention of RSP has drawn significant political attention as the party prepares to shape its future leadership and organisational direction.
