Earthquake jolts Srinagar in Humla



KATHMANDU: An earthquake has struck near Srinagar in Humla district.

According to the National Seismology and Research Centre, a 4.1-magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale occurred in the Srinagar area of Humla at 2:32 pm today.

The tremors were reportedly felt in Humla and surrounding districts. Earlier, on 29 Jestha, a 4.0-magnitude earthquake had its epicentre near Chyamtang in Sankhuwasabha.

The Centre stated that, as Nepal lies in a seismically active Himalayan region, small and large earthquakes occur from time to time.
