KATHMANDU: Weather conditions have improved as the rain-bearing system active since Friday has weakened, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
Meteorologist Bibhuti Pokharel said the weather has already shown significant improvement and rainfall similar to that seen on Friday and Saturday morning is unlikely.
However, pre-monsoon activities will continue, with partly cloudy conditions expected on Sunday as well. Light rainfall is currently occurring in parts of Koshi Province and isolated areas in other regions, which is expected to gradually subside.
Pokharel said that although the current rain system is moving out, typical pre-monsoon patterns, sunshine followed by cloud formation, will continue. Heavy or prolonged rainfall is not expected immediately.
According to the department’s records, light rainfall is still being reported in some areas of Koshi Province, Bagmati Province and Madhesh Province.
The department’s latest 24-hour data shows that Palpa recorded the highest rainfall at 75.8 mm, followed by Rupandehi with 75.2 mm, Morang with 63.8 mm, Dhankuta with 63.2 mm and Kapilvastu with 59.6 mm.
