KATHMANDU: Raksha Bam, coordinator of the Gen-Z Front, has urged Prime Minister Sushila Karki to make public the investigation report into the incidents that took place during protests on September 8 and 9, 2025.
In a statement posted on Facebook on Friday, Bam questioned how what began as a peaceful movement suddenly turned violent, and demanded clarity on who ordered the use of gunfire and who was responsible for setting fire to Singha Durbar.
She said the developments have raised serious concerns and stressed that the government must disclose the findings of the probe to address growing public doubt.
“Prime Minister, I want to know whether there is blood on my hands. I want to know whether I was involved in burning Singha Durbar. I want to know whether I was influenced by any external force,” Bam wrote, calling for the report to be made public.
She also said that although activists had placed trust in the leadership during a period of political uncertainty to safeguard the Constitution and guide the country forward, they are now facing allegations and public scrutiny.
Bam said she has been subjected to repeated accusations and questions on social media, and stressed that only the official report can provide credible answers.
Reflecting on the aftermath of the Gen-Z protests, she acknowledged Prime Minister Karki’s role in leading the country through a difficult period and conducting elections peacefully, but urged her to also take note of how activists are being treated.
“Have you seen what is happening on the streets? The kind of questions we are being asked and the treatment we are receiving?” she wrote, adding that the voices of victims must be addressed in time.
She reiterated that she has already responded to allegations multiple times and emphasized that the government must now release the report without delay.
“The eyes waiting for justice are fixed on you. How history remembers you depends on the decisions you make today,” she added.
The government had formed a probe commission led by former judge Gauri Bahadur Karki to investigate the incidents during the Gen-Z movement. Although the commission has already submitted its report to the prime minister, it has yet to be made public.
