KATHMANDU: The country is experiencing the combined impact of a western low-pressure system and local winds, bringing widespread cloudy conditions across Nepal.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, most hilly and mountainous regions, including Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, remain under dense cloud cover.

The Division has forecast moderate to heavy rainfall and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in some areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, with similar conditions expected in a few locations elsewhere.

This afternoon, skies are likely to remain mostly cloudy nationwide, with chances of moderate rain or snowfall along with thunder, lightning, hail, and strong winds in many parts of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in some areas of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim.

Cloudy conditions are expected to persist into the night, with light rain or snowfall and thunder likely in a few mountainous areas and isolated hilly regions across the country.
