One killed in jeep accident in Baitadi



BAITADI: A person died in a jeep accident in Baitadi District on Friday night.

The accident occurred along an inner road section at Shivnath Rural Municipality–3 when a jeep (Su Pra 04–011 Ja 0069) heading towards Bachara from local Bachala met with an accident.

According to Police Inspector Suraj Singh, spokesperson for the District Police Office, the deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Keshav Singh Dhami of Shivnath–2, who was also the driver of the vehicle.

Police said Dhami, who sustained serious injuries in the accident, died on the way while being taken to Dadeldhura for treatment.

Preliminary information suggests that the driver was the sole occupant of the jeep at the time of the incident. The vehicle reportedly plunged around 200 meters down the road.

Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
