Rainfall to gradually decrease from Wednesday



KATHMANDU: Rainfall is expected to gradually decrease from Wednesday, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

The country is currently under the influence of monsoon winds and rainfall is taking place as low pressure line of monsoon is located towards north than the average place.

According to senior meteorologist at the Department, Min Kumar Aryal, though rainfall would take place at different places of the country today and tomorrow it would gradually decrease from Wednesday.

Rainfall coupled with thunder and lightning took place at some places in mountainous regions and many places in hilly regions of the country.

Tonight, moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely at many places of hilly and Tarai regions in Madhes, Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces.

According to the Department, moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning has been predicted at some hilly areas in Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces.

Heavy rainfall might also take place at one or two places of Tarai and hilly regions in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces today night.

The Department has requested all to adopt necessary precautions as there is risk of landslide, flood and inundation in the areas that is likely to receive rainfall.
