KATHMANDU: The High Court Patan has settled 11,468 cases during the fiscal year 2025/26, according to the court. The court had a total caseload of 16,139 cases, of which 11,468 were resolved during the period.
The court has also succeeded in reducing cases pending for more than two years and those older than 18 months to zero. However, 353 cases older than one year remain pending.
Chief Judge Lal Bahadur Kunwar said the court achieved the target of eliminating cases pending for more than 18 months in line with the judiciary’s Fifth Five-Year Strategic Plan. “We have given special priority to cases related to development projects and revenue collection,” Kunwar said.
The High Court Patan reported that it has already settled 740 cases in the current fiscal year, while 12 detainee-related cases older than one year remain pending.
Among subordinate courts under its jurisdiction, Sindhupalchok District Court recorded the highest case settlement rate at 77.4 percent, followed by Rasuwa at 75.6 percent. The Kathmandu District Court recorded the lowest settlement rate at 42.3 percent.
