Applications of 25 candidates approved for vacant CTEVT vice-chair post

KATHMANDU: Applications of 25 candidates have been approved for the vacant post of vice-chairperson at the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT), while four applicants have been approved for the vacant member secretary position.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology published the list of approved applicants on Friday.

According to the ministry, applicants who submitted their applications under the notice published on June 4 and fulfilled the required procedures and eligibility criteria will now be required to attend interviews and presentations as scheduled by the evaluation committee.

Under existing provisions, the Minister for Education serves as the ex-officio chairperson of the council. Following the vacancy in key positions, Anoj Bhattarai has been assigned as acting member secretary.

The council became vacant of office bearers after a special ordinance related to removal from office came into effect through a presidential decision based on the government’s recommendation, similar to changes implemented in other public bodies.
