KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index posted a strong gain on Wednesday, rising by 30.08 points to close at 2,754.48. The benchmark index increased by 1.10 percent compared to the previous trading session.
The sensitive index, which tracks the performance of blue-chip companies, also climbed by 3.68 points to settle at 471.06.
A total of 10.66 million shares of 346 companies were traded, with transactions worth Rs 3.82 billion recorded during the day.
Corporate Development Bank emerged as the top traded company by transaction volume. Ankhu Khola Hydropower, Api Power Company, Ridi Power Company, and National Hydropower were also among the most actively traded stocks.
Among the top gainers were Upper Lohore Khola Hydropower, Mountain Hydropower, Bungal Hydropower, Shikhar Power Development, and City Hotel.
Meanwhile, Corporate Development Bank, SBL Debenture, Prime Debenture, Bottlers Nepal Balaju, and Nepal SBI Bank Debenture were among the top losers.
Out of the traded companies, share prices of 248 companies advanced, while 21 companies registered declines.
