Lingden warns against compromise with those trying to weaken party

KATHMANDU: Chair of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party Rajendra Lingden has said that there will be no compromise with those attempting to weaken or destroy the party from within.

Speaking at a felicitation and greetings program held at the party office in Dhumbarahi on Monday, Lingden made it clear that the party will take a firm stance against individuals who, while being inside the organization, are allegedly trying to damage it.

He said that leaders who are unable to form ward committees in their own districts, fail to support party candidates during elections, and attempt to prevent the party from becoming a national force will not be heard.

Lingden also stated that he is not in favor of extending the party leadership term by postponing the general convention, adding that the leadership is ready to hold the convention in a timely, lawful, and systematic manner.

He further said that the upcoming general convention is the only solution to the current internal problems within the party.

On national politics, Lingden said the opposition in parliament has become weak at present, and stressed that the party would continue to resist the government’s wrong actions both in Parliament and on the streets.

He also commented on the government led by the Rastriya Swatantra Party, saying that it must deliver tangible results rather than just election promises.

Referring to recent controversies surrounding the Home Minister Sudan Gurung, Lingden said the government should immediately clarify its position, and both the minister and the RSP leadership must make their stance clear.

He added that the current government has begun some corrective steps against past irregularities, which he welcomed as positive.

Lingden also reiterated that the party will strongly advance its agenda, including the institution of monarchy as a guardian institution of the state and the establishment of Nepal as a Hindu nation in the future.
