Nepal take on UAE in first T20 at Kirtipur today



KATHMANDU: The Nepal national cricket team are set to face the United Arab Emirates national cricket team in the first match of a two-game T20 series today.

The match will begin at 5 PM at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.

Nepal and the UAE are meeting at the Kirtipur ground after a gap of nearly two and a half years.

In the absence of regular captain Rohit Paudel and other senior players, all-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee will lead the Nepali side.

The team, dominated by young players, is expected to mark the beginning of a new chapter in T20 cricket. Alongside captain Airee, the squad includes Kushal Bhurtel, Kushal Malla, Sundeep Jora, Aarif Sheikh, Bashir Ahmad, Gulsan Jha, Lokesh Bam, Sandeep Lamichhane, Nandan Yadav, Santosh Yadav, Arjun Saud, Hemant Dhami, Sahab Alam, and Sher Malla.

Reserve players for the series are Pratis GC, Narayan Joshi, and Rashid Khan.

The Cricket Association of Nepal has arranged ticketing for the evening match through the Khalti app. The second match of the series will be played tomorrow.
