NC Disciplinary Committee meets today

KATHMANDU: The central disciplinary committee of Nepali Congress is scheduled to meet today at 3 PM at the party’s central office in Sanepa, according to secretary Dinesh Thapa Magar.

The agenda of the meeting has not been disclosed.

In its earlier meeting held on April 15, the committee had sought clarification from former acting president Purna Bahadur Khadka. The committee decided to issue a seven-day notice asking him to explain why he released a statement on the party’s letterhead mentioning a non-existent position.

Meanwhile, after the Supreme Court of Nepal granted legitimacy to the executive committee led by Gagan Thapa, party president Thapa met leader Khadka on Sunday.

The meeting between the two leaders, held amid the ongoing disciplinary process, is being seen as a possible effort to normalize the situation within the party.
