38,000 students to appear for SEE in Karnali



KARNALI: Around 38,000 students from Karnali Province are appearing in the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) 2026, which begins on March 30.

A total of 38,379 students are participating in the exams, including 32,255 regular candidates and 6,124 appearing for grade improvement.

The examinations are being conducted across 161 centers in all 10 districts of the province, according to Khim Prasad Dhakal, Information Officer and Chief of the Examination Branch at the Education Development Directorate, Surkhet.

Surkhet has the highest number of candidates, with 9,779 students sitting for the exams, while Dolpa has the lowest at 674 students across four centers. Other districts include Dailekh with 6,253 students, Jajarkot with 4,813, Salyan with 4,142, Rukum Paschim with 3,922, and Kalikot with 3,717 students.

Similarly, 2,255 students from Jumla, 1,524 from Mugu, and 1,300 from Humla are taking part in the examination.

In terms of exam centers, Surkhet has the highest number at 34, followed by Dailekh with 22, Kalikot with 20, Salyan with 19, Jajarkot and Rukum Paschim with 16 each, Jumla with 14,Mugu with nine, Humla with seven, and Dolpa with four centers.
