Light rain and snowfall likely due to western low-pressure system



KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division has reported that a western low-pressure system is currently influencing the country’s weather. Fog has also been observed in some parts of the Terai region.

The mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces are expected to remain generally cloudy. The remaining parts of these provinces, including Madhes Province, as well as the hilly and mountainous regions of other provinces, will experience partly cloudy conditions.

There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall at one or two locations in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Tonight, fog is likely to persist in some parts of the Terai. Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces are expected to witness partly cloudy skies, while the weather will remain mostly clear in other provinces. Light rain and snowfall are possible at one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi Province.

The Division has urged residents in areas where fog, mist, and snowfall are forecast to exercise caution. It has also advised the public, particularly those operating vehicles or engaged in outdoor activities, to remain alert.
