Clash erupts between UML and RSP supporters during nomination filing in Jhapa



JHAPA: A clash broke out between supporters of the CPN-UML and the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in Jhapa while candidates were filing their nominations on Tuesday.

The incident occurred in Jhapa-5 as RSP supporters accompanying senior party leader and Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah, and supporters of former Prime Minister and UML Chair KP Sharma Oli, confronted each other while heading to register nominations with their respective entourages.

Several supporters from both sides sustained minor injuries during the clash in Damak.

The situation at the incident site has since returned to normal, according to local authorities.
