KP Oli to begin election campaign by inspecting Gen-Z protest-damaged structures in Jhapa



KATHMANDU: UML Chair KP Sharma Oli, who has arrived in Jhapa for candidate registration, is set to begin his election campaign by inspecting government and private structures damaged during the Gen-Z movement.

According to Narayan Prasad Gautam, coordinator of the UML Area Coordination Committee Jhapa-5, Oli will inspect structures burned during the Gen-Z protests in Bhadra and meet with affected individuals. The campaign will begin with an inspection of the Area Police Office building in Damak.

UML Damak Municipal Committee Chair Ram Poudel said Oli’s schedule includes inspection visits and meetings with victims from 10 am to 12 pm.

The sites slated for inspection include the Area Police Office Damak, Damak Municipality office, the residence of Damak Mayor Ram Thapa, the Nepali Congress party office, the residence of former mayor Romanath Oli, Oli’s own residence, the Nepali Congress Damak Municipal Office, the UML Damak office, and the residence of UML youth leader Buddhi Thapa.

Later in the day, Oli is scheduled to file his candidacy for the House of Representatives election from Jhapa-5 at 1 pm for the polls set for March 5.
