KATHMANDU: Nepal is set to experience mostly fair weather today, although some hilly and mountainous areas may see cloudy skies, light precipitation and isolated thunderstorms.
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology said the country is currently under the partial influence of westerly winds, which may bring changes in weather conditions in some regions.
Partial cloud cover is expected in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, as well as the mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces.
Meanwhile, the hilly areas of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces, along with most parts of the Terai, are likely to remain mainly clear. However, fog or mist may develop in some Terai areas.
The Department also forecast the possibility of light rain and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at one or two places in the mountainous regions and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.
