Finance Minister Wagle to pitch Nepal investment opportunities to Indian industry

KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle is set to call on Indian industrialists to increase investment in Nepal during his ongoing visit to India.

Wagle will address a roundtable discussion organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at its headquarters in New Delhi at 9:30 am on Saturday. CII President Dr Suchitra K. Ella will chair the session.

During the interaction, Wagle is expected to encourage Indian investors to explore new investment opportunities in Nepal and expand their existing investments.

He will also outline the government’s position on ensuring a stable and investment-friendly legal framework, protecting investments and providing greater certainty on returns, according to officials.

The CII said around two dozen industrialists are expected to participate in the interaction, including former CII President and ITC India Chairman Sanjiv Puri.

The engagement is part of Wagle’s broader efforts to strengthen Nepal-India economic ties and promote investment, trade and private-sector cooperation between the two countries.
