Rabi Lamichhane warns ministers and lawmakers against arrogance and undignified conduct

KATHMANDU:  Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane has instructed the party’s ministers and lawmakers to maintain discipline, transparency and coordination in their parliamentary and public activities.

Lamichhane held a parliamentary party meeting on Wednesday with ministers and lawmakers, with parliamentary party leader Balendra Shah absent.

During the meeting, Lamichhane urged lawmakers and ministers to stop engaging in undignified activities and “creating a spectacle” in front of voters.

He also called for greater transparency within the party, noting that some lawmakers had spoken in the House without informing the parliamentary party, while ministers had failed to keep the party informed about their activities inside and outside Parliament.

“Both lawmakers and ministers need to correct such practices,” he said.

Lamichhane urged ministers and lawmakers to set aside arrogance and carry out their responsibilities through cooperation and dialogue.

He said he had been closely monitoring the activities of party representatives and called on them to improve their conduct and act responsibly in their parliamentary roles.

Lamichhane also directed ministers and lawmakers to regularly update their activities through the RSP Pulse mobile application, including their parliamentary interventions, official visits and meetings.

He further asked party representatives to pay attention to their dress and conduct in Parliament, stressing that everyone should maintain parliamentary dignity and avoid behaviour that could create a spectacle.

Lamichhane said lawmakers should communicate their concerns directly with ministers and stressed that coordination between the two sides was essential for the government to function effectively.
