Prof. Dr. Dhundiraj Poudel appointed NMC Chairman



KATHMANDU: Prof. Dr. Dhundiraj Poudel has been appointed Chairman of the Nepal Medical Council (NMC).

The newly appointed Chairman Dr. Poudel took the oath of office and secrecy before Health and Population Minister Nisha Mehta on Wednesday.

Dr. Poudel is a senior ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialist. He is currently serving as Head and Professor of the Department of Ear, Nose and Throat at Nepalgunj Medical College, Kohalpur.

Earlier, he served in various capacities at Bir Hospital, Bheri Hospital, Bharatpur Hospital and Dang Hospital. He earned an MS and Gold Medal in Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery from the Institute of Medical Sciences, Tribhuvan University. He completed his MBBS from the same institute.

Dr. Poudel has also served as an Executive Member and Coordinator of the Ethics and Examination Committee of the Nepal Medical Council.
