Both Houses of Federal Parliament to meet today



KATHMANDU: Both Houses of the Federal Parliament will meet today, with the government preparing to present several legislative proposals and respond to lawmakers’ questions.

Accordinf to the Parliament Secretariat, the meeting of the House of Representatives is scheduled to begin at 11 am. Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle is likely to present a proposal seeking consideration of the Employees Provident Fund (Tenth Amendment) Bill, 2083.

Similarly, Minister for Youth, Labour and Employment Ramji Yadav is scheduled to present a proposal seeking consideration of the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Bill, 2083.

According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Biraj Bhakta Shrestha is also likely to present the Agreement on Long-Term Electricity Trade between Nepal and India.

Similarl, the National Assembly meeting is scheduled for 1:15 pm. The concerned ministers are scheduled to respond to written questions related to the Ministries of Foreign Affairs; Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs; and Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.

The ministers will also answer oral questions related to the Ministries of Finance and Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation.

Similarly, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Khadak Raj Poudel ‘Ganes’ is scheduled to present a proposal to send the Domestic Airlines Liability Bill, 2083 to the Legislative Management Committee for clause-by-clause discussion.
