NEPSE posts marginal gain, turnover rises to Rs 4.53 billion



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index posted a marginal gain on Friday, closing 1.63 points higher at 2,702.11.

The Sensitive Index, which measures the performance of Class ‘A’ companies, also inched up by 0.31 points to 463.98.

According to NEPSE, share prices of 116 companies advanced during the trading session, while 140 declined and 17 remained unchanged.

A total of 19.22 million shares of 353 listed companies were traded through various transactions worth Rs 4.53 billion.

In terms of turnover, the debenture issue of Global IME Bank Debenture 2088/89 topped the chart, followed by Global IME Bank Debenture 2084/85, Sopan Pharmaceuticals, Ankhu Khola Jalvidhyut Company and United Modi Hydropower.

Among the top gainers, shareholders of Apollo Hydropower, Sopan Pharmaceuticals, Support Microfinance, Reliance Finance and Gurans Laghubitta recorded notable gains.

On the losing side, investors in Bungal Hydropower, Atmanirbhar Laghubitta, Citizens Bank Debenture, Siddhartha Investment Growth Scheme and Salpa Bikash Bank registered the highest declines, according to NEPSE.
