GHORAHI: More than 2,600 people received citizenship certificates from the District Administration Office (DAO), Dang, during the month of Jestha.
According to Administrative Officer Bijay Gautam, a total of 2,646 citizenship certificates were issued through the District Administration Office in Ghorahi and the Area Administration Offices in Tulsipur and Lamahi.
During the same period, the office distributed 1,499 duplicate copies of citizenship certificates and issued minor identity cards to 32 individuals.
The DAO’s monthly progress report shows that 896 people obtained citizenship certificates from Ghorahi, 1,067 from Tulsipur and 683 from Lamahi.
The office stated that citizens’ access to essential public services, including citizenship certificates, passports and national identity cards, has continued to expand.
Similarly, a total of 1,217 people received e-passports during Jestha. Of them, 415 received the service from Ghorahi, 510 from Tulsipur and 302 from Lamahi.
Demand for national identity cards has also increased significantly. According to the office, 7,897 people registered for national identity cards during the month.
Officer Gautam said that 3,220 registrations were recorded in Ghorahi, 3,242 in Tulsipur and 1,435 in Lamahi.
