Partly cloudy skies, light rain likely in hilly and mountainous regions



KATHMANDU: Nepal is currently under the partial influence of westerly and local winds, resulting in generally cloudy conditions in Koshi Province and across the country’s hilly and mountainous regions.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the Terai region will remain partly cloudy.

There is a possibility of light rain or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in a few places in Koshi Province and the mountainous areas of Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province and Lumbini Province. Similar conditions may occur at one or two places in the mountainous regions of Karnali Province and Sudurpaschim Province.

The bulletin also warns of warmer daytime temperatures in Madhes Province and parts of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Overall, mountainous areas are expected to remain generally cloudy, hilly regions partly cloudy, and the Terai mostly clear. Light rain or snowfall is likely at one or two locations in the mountainous areas of Koshi, Gandaki and Karnali provinces.
