Mechi Customs collects Rs 11.58 billion in eight months



BHADRAPUR: The Mechi Customs Office has collected Rs 11.58 billion in revenue during the first eight months of the current fiscal year, achieving 96.06 percent of its target for the period.

Information Officer Ishwar Kumar Humagai said the office had set a target of Rs 12.55 billion by the end of Falgun. In Falgun alone, revenue collection reached Rs 1.65 billion, surpassing the monthly target with an achievement of 110.26 percent.

During the review period, Rs 4.89 billion was collected under customs duty, Rs 220 million from export duty, Rs 63 million under other customs-related income, Rs 629,000 from export service fees, and Rs 100 million from agricultural reform fees.

Likewise, revenue included Rs 2.94 billion from excise duty on imports, Rs 392.38 million from road maintenance and improvement fees, Rs 1.22 billion from infrastructure tax, Rs 1.22 billion from health risk tax on imported goods, Rs 4.20 billion from value added tax (import), and Rs 132.35 million from green tax.

The office has set an annual revenue target of Rs 18.87 billion for the fiscal year 2082/83, according to Humagai.
