Cold eases as Kathmandu’s minimum temperature rises to 10°C



KATHMANDU: As winter gradually draws to a close, cold conditions are easing and temperatures are rising across the country.

On Thursday, the preliminary minimum temperature in the Kathmandu Valley was recorded at 10 degrees Celsius.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the temperature measured at 5:45 am in Kathmandu stood at 10.0°C. However, this figure represents an initial reading.

The official minimum temperature for the day is recorded at 8:45 am. By that time, the temperature may drop slightly from the early morning measurement.

On Wednesday, the Valley’s minimum temperature was recorded at 8.8°C, while the maximum temperature reached 22.5°C.

The Division measures minimum and maximum temperatures daily at various locations across the country, including Kathmandu.

The lowest temperature recorded during the day is designated as the minimum temperature, while the highest is recorded as the maximum. The minimum temperature is officially measured at 8:45 am and the maximum at 5:45 pm.
