KATHMANDU: Gagan Kumar Thapa, who became the president of the Nepali Congress through the party’s second special general convention, has begun rapidly distributing election tickets.
After receiving official recognition as party president from the Election Commission, Thapa has intensified the process of selecting candidates who will file their nominations on Tuesday.
For the election scheduled on March 5, he has already distributed tickets in the first phase to candidates from Himalayan and high-hill districts.
Earlier, former party president Sher Bahadur Deuba had signed off on tickets for proportional representation and the National Assembly.
