HoR polls: 167 polling stations set up in Parsa



PARSA: The District Security Committee of Parsa has classified 62 out of 167 polling stations in the district as highly sensitive ahead of the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) elections scheduled for March 5.

Parsa has a total of 167 polling stations: 34 in Constituency No. 1, 38 in Constituency No. 2, 47 in Constituency No. 3, and 48 in Constituency No. 4. Chief District Officer Bhola Dahal stated that election-oriented security arrangements across the district have been strengthened.

“We are making the necessary security arrangements to ensure the elections are conducted peacefully and without fear,” he said. “In preparation for the elections, inspections of polling stations and centers, along with coordination efforts, are ongoing.”

Of the 167 polling stations, 62 have been listed as highly sensitive, 85 as sensitive, and 20 as less sensitive. Dahal added that all four election officers’ offices in the district have been fully established, with security personnel deployed at each office.

Parsa district has a total of 441 polling stations, including two temporary ones. The constituencies are divided as follows: 103 in Constituency No. 1, 110 in Constituency No. 2, and 114 each in Constituency Nos. 3 and 4.

The total voter population in Parsa is 376,513, comprising 164,421 women, 212,077 men, and 15 voters from sexual and gender minority communities.
