CIB arrests ANFA treasurer, accountant in financial irregularities probe



KATHMANDU: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the Nepal Police has arrested the treasurer and accountant of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) in connection with an investigation into alleged financial irregularities at the football governing body.

ANFA Treasurer Rabindra Joshi and Accountant Sanjiv Pandey were taken into custody by the CIB.

The CIB launched the investigation after receiving allegations of financial irregularities at ANFA. On Friday afternoon, a CIB team reached the ANFA office in Satdobato and seized documents, computers and mobile phones as part of the investigation.

The two officials have been taken to the CIB office in Lazimpat, where they are being questioned. CIB officials said the investigation would continue and that the two could remain in custody if necessary.
