KATHMANDU: The government has recommended 13 ambassadorial nominees, with experts, academics and professionals proposed for diplomatic missions in countries including India, China, the US, Japan and the UK.
A Cabinet meeting held on Friday under the leadership of Prime Minister Balendra Shah (Balen) recommended ambassadors for the 13 countries. Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal said the government had recommended qualified individuals from diverse professional backgrounds for the ambassadorial posts.
The government will now send the nominees to the parliamentary hearing process. Following the completion of the hearing, the government will seek approval from the respective countries. Once approval is received, the President will appoint the nominees as ambassadors to the respective countries.

Sharu Joshi — Germany
Dr. Padmakshi Rana — Oman
Chudamani Kharel — Malaysia
Prof. Dr. Sangam Shrestha — South Korea
Dr. Manchal Jha — Sri Lanka
Giri Bahadur Sunar — Saudi Arabia
