House of Representatives meeting underway



KATHMANDU: The meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) has begun on Tuesday.

The meeting is scheduled to take up oral questions related to the Ministries of Foreign Affairs; Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation; Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation; and Agriculture, Forest and Environment. The concerned ministers are expected to respond to the questions.

Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam will present the Seventh Annual Report of the Tharu Commission for fiscal year 2081/82 on behalf of Prime Minister Balendra Shah, according to the Federal Parliament Secretariat.

Similarly, Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal will present a proposal seeking consideration of the Passport (First Amendment) Bill, 2083. Law Minister Gautam will present a proposal to consider the Reconciliation (Second Amendment) Bill, 2083.

According to Federal Parliament Secretary-General Padma Prasad Pandey, Minister Gautam will also present the agreement on the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biodiversity in Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea for consideration.
