Sudurpaschim CM Bhatta preparing to seek vote of confidence tomorrow



DHANGADHI: Sudurpaschim Province Chief Minister Khagaraj Bhatta is preparing to seek a vote of confidence from the provincial assembly on Wednesday following discussions held at his official residence on Monday.

The CPN-UML parliamentary party is scheduled to meet at 2 pm on Tuesday to discuss the confidence vote and other matters concerning the provincial government.

A provincial assembly member who participated in the discussions said the meeting would finalise preparations for Bhatta to seek the vote of confidence the following day.

He was appointed chief minister on Friday and is also preparing to expand his Cabinet after securing the confidence of the provincial assembly.

The CPN-UML has already appointed three ministers and one state minister. The party plans to appoint three more ministers and two state ministers to complete the provincial Cabinet.

Bhatta held discussions on Cabinet expansion and the confidence vote with CPN-UML parliamentary party leader and provincial in-charge Bhanubhakta Joshi.

Earlier, provincial coordinator Hari Chaudhary, leader Ranjita Shrestha, Joshi and Bhatta had also held discussions on securing the vote of confidence and the next steps for the provincial government.
