Two arrested with 13 kg of opium in Kohalpur



NEPALGUNJ: Police have arrested two people in possession of 13 kg 64 grams of opium and 148 grams of hashish in Kohalpur, Banke.

A joint team from the Narcotics Control Bureau, Nepalgunj, and the District Police Office, Surkhet, arrested the two from Kohalpur Municipality-6 based on a tip-off, according to Prati Singh Rathore, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Banke.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Karna Bahadur Budha of Rukum and Topjung alias Type Singh Giri of Rukum West, police said.

Police also recovered a digital weighing scale and Rs 5,000 in cash from their possession. According to police, one round was fired into the air during the operation to apprehend them.
