House of Representatives meeting taking place today



KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives (HoR) is scheduled to meet today at 11:00 am at Singha Durbar, with oral question-and-answer sessions involving ministers from four ministries on the agenda.

According to the meeting schedule, the Minister for Foreign Affairs; Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation; Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation; and Minister for Agriculture, Forest and Environment are scheduled to respond to oral questions concerning their respective ministries.

Similarly, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam is slated to present the seventh annual report of the Tharu Commission for fiscal year 2081/82 on behalf of Prime Minister Balendra Shah.

Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal will present a proposal seeking consideration of the ‘Passport (First Amendment) Bill, 2083’, according to the Parliament Secretariat.

Likewise, Law Minister Gautam will also present a proposal to consider the ‘Reconciliation (Second Amendment) Bill, 2083’.  She will also present the ‘Agreement on the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biological Diversity in Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea’ for consideration.

Meanwhile, meetings of five parliamentary committees are also scheduled for today. They include the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee, Infrastructure Development Committee, Legislative Management Committee, Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee, and Federalism Strengthening and National Concerns Committee.
