Nation lost a brilliant intellectual: NC President Thapa



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has said that with the passing of civil society leader Devendra Raj Pandey, the nation has lost a brilliant intellectual, moral leader and vigilant guardian of democracy.

Expressing deep sorrow over the passing away of Pandey, President Thapa, in his condolence message, recalled Pandey’s fearless contribution to civic freedom, equality, human rights and democratic consciousness throughout his life.

As Finance Secretary, Finance Minister, development thinker and good governance activist, he gave a new perspective to the debate on the country’s economy, public administration and development, Thapa mentioned in the message.

Dr Pandey passed away on Friday evening. (RSS)
