Three parliamentary committees to meet today



KATHMANDU: Three committees under Nepal’s Federal Parliament are scheduled to hold meetings today to discuss a range of legislative and governance issues.

The Women and Social Affairs Committee met at 9:00 am at Singha Durbar. The meeting is expected to discuss plans related to the committee’s field monitoring and observation visits.

Similarly, the Development, Economic Affairs and Good Governance Committee will convene at 11:00 am in its committee hall at Singha Durbar. The agenda includes discussions on the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies’ budget and annual programs for the fiscal year 2026/27.

Industry, Commerce and Supplies Minister Gauri Kumari has been invited to attend the meeting and brief lawmakers on the ministry’s plans and priorities.

Likewise, the Federalism Strengthening and National Concerns Committee is also scheduled to meet at 11:00 am at Singha Durbar.

The committee will hold discussions on preparations for the upcoming local-level elections, including key administrative and policy arrangements required ahead of the polls.
