24 injured as army bus overturns in Bhojpur, eight flown to Kathmandu



BHOJPUR: A bus carrying Nepali Army personnel on security patrol for the upcoming House of Representatives election in Bhojpur met with an accident on Wednesday, leaving 24 people injured.

The bus, carrying 26 soldiers from the Naya Shreenath Battalion, veered off the road near Seti Bagar in Bhojpur Municipality-3 and fell about 5 meters down.

Vehicle number NA 4 Kha 7317 dropped roughly 500 meters from a bend near Seti Bagar. While 24 passengers were injured, a Jamadar and his assistant on board remained unhurt. Among the injured, eight are in serious condition. Others are receiving treatment at Bhojpur District Hospital.

Superintendent of Police Raju Lama said that the eight critically injured personnel have been airlifted to Kathmandu for further medical care. The army bus was on patrol from Naya Shreenath Battalion in Temke Maiyung Rural Municipality when the accident occurred.
