Update on Dharan bus accident: Identities of the 5 deceased revealed



DHARAN: The identities of the five people who died in the bus accident in Dharan have been confirmed.

According to Chandra Khadka, spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Sunsari District Police Office, the deceased include: Dhairiya Kumar Yadav from Gaidhabhetpur, Samsi Rural Municipality, Mahottari, 18-month-old Risham Kumar Mandal from Janakpur, Omesh Rai from Barahakshetra-3, Sunsari, Nayan Thapa Magar from Mechinagar, Jhapa, and  Subeksha Subba from Dharan-13.

The bus, numbered KO 1 Kha 7119, was traveling from Dhankuta to Dharan when it crashed at Zero Point, Dharan-13.

Preliminary police investigations suggest that the bus, which had been registered at the Sunsari Transport Office in Janakpur, ran out of diesel while heading towards Bhedetar and was returning when the accident occurred.

Thirteen injured passengers are receiving treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan. Police have stated that further investigations into the incident are ongoing.
