Balen assumes role of senior leader in RSP

KATHMANDU: Former Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah has assumed the responsibility of senior leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP). He formally took charge of the position on Sunday after arriving at the party’s central office in Banasthali.

Earlier the same day, Shah had resigned from the post of mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City. Following his resignation, he visited the RSP office and rang the party’s election symbol bell. Gen-Z activist Sudan Gurung also accompanied him to the party headquarters.

A large number of supporters gathered at the office to welcome Shah. He was received by RSP Chair Rabi Lamichhane.
