US dollar appreciates against Nepali Rupee



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has fixed the foreign exchange rates for today (Sunday). According to the official rates, the value of the US dollar has reached a new high. The buying rate for one US dollar has been set at Rs 145.09, while the selling rate stands at Rs 145.69.

Similarly, the buying rate for one European euro has been fixed at Rs 168.59 and the selling rate at Rs 169.29. One UK pound sterling is being bought at Rs 194.51 and sold at Rs 195.31, while the Swiss franc’s buying rate is Rs 180.97 and the selling rate is Rs 181.71.

The buying rate for one Australian dollar has been set at Rs 97.32 and the selling rate at Rs 97.72. One Canadian dollar is being bought at Rs 104.49 and sold at Rs 104.92, while the Singapore dollar’s buying rate is Rs 112.70 and the selling rate is Rs 113.16.

For 10 Japanese yen, the buying rate is Rs 9.18 and the selling rate is Rs 9.21. The buying rate for one Chinese yuan is Rs 20.82 and the selling rate is Rs 20.90. One Saudi Arabian riyal is being bought at Rs 38.69 and sold at Rs 38.85, while the Qatari riyal’s buying rate is Rs 39.83 and the selling rate is Rs 40.00.

According to the central bank, the buying rate for one Thai baht is Rs 4.62 and the selling rate is Rs 4.64. One UAE dirham is being bought at Rs 39.50 and sold at Rs 39.67, while the Malaysian ringgit’s buying and selling rates are Rs 35.76 and Rs 35.91 respectively.

Similarly, the buying rate for 100 South Korean won is Rs 9.85 and the selling rate is Rs 9.89. The Swedish krona is being bought at Rs 15.74 and sold at Rs 15.81, while the Danish krone’s buying rate is Rs 22.56 and the selling rate is Rs 22.66.

Nepal Rastra Bank has set the buying rate of one Hong Kong dollar at Rs 18.60 and the selling rate at Rs 18.68. One Kuwaiti dinar is being bought at Rs 474.46 and sold at Rs 476.42, while the Bahraini dinar’s buying rate is Rs 384.85 and the selling rate is Rs 386.44. The buying rate for one Omani rial is Rs 376.87 and the selling rate is Rs 378.43. Similarly, the buying rate for 100 Indian rupees has been fixed at Rs 160.00 and the selling rate at Rs 160.15.

The central bank has stated that these exchange rates may be revised at any time as necessary. It also noted that rates set by commercial banks may differ, and the latest updates are available on Nepal Rastra Bank’s website.
