Nagdhunga–Muglin and Muglin–Narayangadh roads reopen after landslide clearance

KATHMANDU: Vehicular movement along the Nagdhunga–Muglin and Muglin–Narayangadh road sections has resumed after landslides triggered by continuous rainfall were cleared early Friday morning.

According to Nepal Police, the landslides that occurred during the night were removed through coordination between road division offices and security personnel, allowing vehicles to operate in both directions.

With the reopening of the two major highways, traffic connecting the Kathmandu Valley with various parts of the country has returned to normal.

Meanwhile, a landslide occurred in the Sanga area on the border of Bhaktapur and Kavre, but it did not disrupt vehicular movement, police said.

However, the Kanti Highway remains closed after being affected by rainfall-induced landslides. Authorities have advised travellers to use alternative routes until the road is cleared and reopened.

The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, Ramshahpath, said that traffic movement through other major entry and exit points of the valley is operating normally.

Police have urged drivers and passengers to remain cautious while travelling through landslide-prone areas, as the risk remains due to ongoing rainfall across the country.
