Partly cloudy skies with rain, snow likely; temperatures climb in Terai regions

KATHMANDU: The partial influence of western and local wind systems has led to partly cloudy conditions across much of the country.

At present, mountainous regions are experiencing generally cloudy skies, while hilly areas remain partly cloudy and the Terai is mostly clear. Light rain and snowfall have been reported in one or two locations in the hilly areas of Koshi Province.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there is a chance of light rain or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in some mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi Province, Bagmati Province, and Gandaki Province this afternoon. Isolated precipitation is also likely in mountainous parts of Karnali Province and Sudurpaschim Province.

For tonight, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy in the mountainous regions and in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces, while other regions, including the Terai of Koshi Province, will see partly cloudy conditions.

Meanwhile, temperatures are on the rise across most parts of the country. Areas in Lumbini Province and the Terai region of Sudurpaschim Province are likely to experience higher temperatures compared to other Terai regions.
