Authorities monitor 53 firms in a single day

KATHMANDU: The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection carried out inspections of 53 firms in a single day as part of its intensified market monitoring drive.

The Department has been conducting regular inspections of business establishments to ensure compliance with billing practices, proper disclosure of information to consumers, and adherence to the Consumer Protection Act, 2075 BS.

As part of this effort, 53 firms in the Khichapokhari area were inspected on Thursday alone. Officials reviewed whether businesses were issuing bills, maintaining transparency, and following legal provisions.

The Department issued corrective instructions to all inspected firms and stated that such monitoring activities are being conducted regularly in coordination with local representatives, consumer rights activists, and other stakeholders to strengthen market discipline and protect consumer interests.
