PR members of parliament to get certified on Thursday



KATHMANDU: The 110 members of parliament (MPs) elected through proportional representation (PR) under the March 5 House of Representatives election will be officially recognized on Thursday.

Assistant Spokesperson of the Election Commission Kul Bahadur GC shared certificates will be distributed to MPs elected through proportional representation according to the cluster prescribed in the law.

Among the 110 MPs, 57 MPs have been elected from Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) through the proportional election system, 20 from the Nepali Congress, 16 from the CPN (UML), nine from the Nepali Communist Party, and four each from the Shram Sanskriti Party and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP).

After the certificates are given to the MPs elected through proportional representation on Thursday, the overall report including the election results of the House of Representatives election, 2082, will be submitted to President Ram Chandra Poudel on the same day, Assistant Spokesperson GC said.

Submission of the comprehensive report including the election results to the President will pay the way for the call to be made for the formation of a government as per Article 76 (1) of the Constitution.
