Indian company SG signs one-year sponsorship deal with Nepal cricketer Gulshan Jha

KATHMANDU: Indian cricket equipment manufacturer SG has signed a one-year sponsorship agreement with Nepali all-rounder Gulshan Jha, under which the company will supply him with cricket gear for an entire year.

The sponsorship has been facilitated by Himalayan Willow, a company involved in the sale and distribution of cricket equipment in Kathmandu and other parts of the country.

Speaking at the sponsorship event on Friday, Himalayan Willow Chief Executive Officer Pradeep Yadav said SG will provide all essential equipment required by Jha for a year, free of cost. The package includes six cricket bats, ten pairs of gloves, and other necessary playing gear.

Yadav said the partnership marks the first time a globally recognised cricket equipment manufacturer has extended direct sponsorship support to a Nepali cricketer.

Addressing the event, Jha expressed his excitement over the deal, saying that playing with SG equipment had been a childhood dream. He added that the sponsorship would further motivate him to perform better at the international level.

Yadav also revealed that Himalayan Willow is working to facilitate a similar sponsorship arrangement for a female Nepali cricketer in the near future, as part of its efforts to support the growth of cricket in Nepal.
