KATHMANDU: The government has approved the Government Decision Process Simplification and Digitalisation Rules, 2026. The Cabinet made six decisions on various issues.
Government spokesperson and Education Minister Sasmit Pokharel made public the decisions of Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting.
According to Minister Pokharel, the meeting fixed the advance tax rates on gains derived from the disposal of interests in entities listed on the Nepal Stock Exchange. An advance tax of 3.5 percent has been set on gains from interests held by individuals for more than 365 days, while a 5 percent rate has been fixed for gains from interests held for 365 days or less.
Thagindra Kattel, Ram Prasad Bhattarai and Baburam Dahal, gazetted first-class officers of the Nepal Judicial Service, Judicial Group, have been promoted to the gazetted special class by the Cabinet.
The Cabinet further decided to issue an order allowing Saudi Arabian lawyer to be granted power of attorney to initiate legal proceedings concerning insurance and compensation claims for Nepali citizens who have died or been injured in Saudi Arabia.
The government also approved the Revolving Relief Fund Operation Procedure, 2026.
Similarly, the Cabinet decided to promote Kali Prasad Parajuli, joint secretary of the Nepal Administration Service, to the post of secretary in the Gazetted Special Class.
