SARLAHI: Two people were killed and two others seriously injured after two motorcycles collided in Sirsiya, Sarlahi, last evening.
According to police, an Indian-registered motorcycle (BR30AP 1224) travelling in the opposite direction collided with a motorcycle (Madhes Pradesh 03-033 Pa 7824) along the Malangwa-Nawalpur road section in Kabilasi Municipality-7.
The riders of both motorcycles died in the accident. Sumit Yadav, 30, of Godaita Municipality-6, Sarlahi, who was riding motorcycle number 7824, and Pappu Paswan, 26, of Kabilasi Municipality-8, Sarlahi, who was riding motorcycle number 1224, succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at the Provincial Hospital in Malangwa.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Bed Prasad Gautam at the District Police Office confirmed the deaths.
Meanwhile, Surendra Paswan, 33, of Kabilasi Municipality-8, and Bablu Kumar Paswan, 18, of Malangwa Municipality-6, who were travelling on motorcycle number 1224, were seriously injured in the collision.
They sustained injuries to their faces, heads, and legs and were referred to Janakpur for further treatment after receiving initial treatment at the Provincial Hospital in Malangwa.
Police said the collision occurred due to excessive speed. Both motorcycles have been taken into police custody, and further investigation is underway.
